Eastern Health Board. Special hospital care programme. Profile of services 1993.
Eastern Health Board
The provision of a modem community based psychiatric service involves, inter alia, the provision of a comprehensive range of services in the community and facilities with appropriate in-patient services in support. The activities of the various community resources are set out in page 2 and onwards. The provision of services and facilities as identified does not take into account the major input from our Board's professionals in the community, both in the area of domiciliary assessment and support, family therapy and support, liaison with primary care providers, general hospitals, geriatric hospitals and homes and liaison with the various voluntary and statutory organisations. A major area of activity centres on the Community Psychiatric Nurses and nurses working in the community, who are very much involved in the management and support of the patient at home and in his various vocational and social activities
