The objectives of the meeting were as follows: • To consider the key challenges in the future implementation of the Cardiovascular Health Strategy as set out in the second report on implementation of the CVD Strategy 'Ireland's Changing Heart' • To provide a forum for discussion at a high level for key clinical, public health and management staff responsible for and involved with the implementation of the Cardiovascular Health Strategy • To prioritise and co-ordinate research to support the implementation of the Cardiovascular Health Strategy • To facilitate networking among all stakeholders While the Directors of Public Health and the Public Health Doctors were not present due to an official industrial dispute, it is intended to discuss the outcomes of the meeting with them at a later date.
