THESIS 5886 The main focus of this study lies in the preparation and characterisation of TiO2. The formation of a nanoparticulate semiconductor may offer interesting photophysical properties and have applications as a photocatalyst. Thus the immobilisation and characterisation of nano particulate TiO2 in both Nafion ionomer membranes, Langmuir- Blodgett (LB) films and surfactant stabilised sols have been attempted
