Report of the Council, read at the Annual Meeting, 3rd November, 1851

?In presenting the first annual report of their proceedings, the council think it right, in the first instance, to explain the origin and objects of the society. This society was established by some members of the Dublin Statistical Society, in November, 1850, for the purpose of promoting scientific inquiries into social questions of general interest.
