This year's report is the first to be governed by new legislation
requiring health boards to publish an annual report and is in a new
format The report outlines the significant features of our health and
personal social services, with a particular focus on developments
during the year.
The report acknowledges the contribution of all our staff in the delivery of a
quality service to the people of Cork and Kerry and regionally to the people
of Munster in terms of certain speciality services. I wish to record my
personal thanks to all the staff of the Board for their dedication and commitment.
Thanks is also due to the Minister and Secretary at the Department of
Health.
The report also acknowledges and I wish to record my personal appreciation
of the important role of the voluntary sector in many areas of our service
and with whom we work in partnership.
I also wish to express my appreciation of the loyalty and commitment of the
Management Team throughout the year and that of my fellow Board members.
